This is a very rare US military model Colt 1902 pistol. This pistol was the forerunner to the now iconic and legendary Colt 1911. If it wasn't for this model then the 1911 may not have been designed or made, and certainly wouldn't have been as successful as it is! Very few 1902 pistols were produced, Colt's own production figures state that from 1902 until 1928 - when production ended - that just over 18,000 were completed. This particular example dates to 1915 and is one of just 1200 pistols manufactured in that year for the US military contract. Serial numbers ran from 37300 to 38500 that year. However, this example has British proof stamps and would have been one of only a handful exported to the UK during the Great War. The 1902 was known to have been popular with serving British officers and was privately purchased by them during the war. Another lesser known fact is the 1902 was also used by British Home Guard officers during the Second World War.

This is a real collectors piece and an extremely rare and historical Colt pistol with links to both the US & British military. You are unlikely to see another! Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
