Deactivated WW2 Colt 1911A1

This is a WW2 US Remington Rand, Colt 1911A1 pistol. The serial number 841890 dates to 1942. The pistol is fitted with a genuine wartime magazine marked on the toe of the base plate with a capital R for Risdon, who were contracted to produced 1911 magazines during WWII. The 1911 is by far the most instantly recognisable of sidearm that was used by the US during both world wars. Very few pistols have endured and gained such a cult following, and it is still considered by many to be the ultimate handgun and sidearm of choice. One of many guns conceived by the legendary gun designer John Mosses Browning. Deactivated with a working action. Included are several inert .45 acp rounds in the magazine.
