Product Information

This is a WWII US "Lead Lease" Lee Enfield No4 MKI* .303 Rifle. Only produced during WWII for the British Government, it was manufactured by Canadian firm Long Branch under the "lend lease" agreement to help arm Allied & Common Wealth forces during the war. This rifle would have been shipped in preparation for the D-Day lands of June 1944, with many failing to make it to Europe due to the heavy loses inflicted on merchant shipping by German U-boats. Thankfully this example made it. Once received by the Allies this rifle was issued to a New Zealand regiment and was marked "N /I\ Z weapon number 36217", this was later struck out when the rifle was used for Drill Purposes and marked DP rack number 4268. Incredibly it is still fitted with an original New Zealand marked magazine. In comparison to most other Allies nations New Zealand had a very small military forces numbering around 140,000 personnel only being deployed during WWII. Making these marked weapons fairly scarce.

It comes fitted with an Long Branch bolt assembly and bayonet & scabbard, plus canvas sling and 6 inert .303 with clip. All marked parts carry the "LB" = Long Branch makers mark. A superb set!

This rifle has been deactivated with a full working action and can be cocked. stripped and dry fired. It comes with an EU/UK certificate of deactivation.
