This is an untouched and in great condition, original WWII Colt manufactured 1911 A1 pistol chambered in .45. The serial number dates to 1945 as the year of manufacture. The pistol retains its factory finish that now has a lovely patina. It has the correct crossed cannons, P proof and GHD acceptance and inspection stamps. The 1911 was the standard issued sidearm of the US military throughout WWII and most other conflicts and wars involving US forces. Chambering the mighty .45 round (the same as the Thompson SMG) it was feared by German troops.
