Rare WWI BSA SMLE Rifle with Regimental Markings and Volley sight . This early example is in stunning original condition . Dated 1914 , with original wood work , magazine cut-off plate and rare long range volley sight . The intent of the these sights was for a platoon or company to engage the enemy at great distance .It's effect was to concentrate  all the rifles fire in one single area.  It was rendered obsolete when the machine gun was invented and production was stopped around 1915/16 making this example that much rarer. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked , stripped and dry fired .
