Product Information

This is a very early 1937 dated pre WWII Nazi K98. Mauser (code S/243) manufactured at the Werke A.G. Berlin-Borsigwalde factory and is one of only 81,000 made that year by Mauser. Very few in production terms when you consider over 14 million were made. This carbine was made during late 1936 production but was finally completed in early 1937. The Waffen code WaA211 on the receiver ring and other parts was used on 1936 manufactured carbines and with Waffen code WaA214 used on 1937 dated K98s.This is further supported by the very low serial number 3159. Note no letter suffix after the serial number and WaA214 coded parts, meaning this K98 was number three thousand, one hundred and fifty ninth of 1937. These early carbine being some of the first used in WWII. This example being used by German forces whilst occupying Norway. With it eventually being captured or surrendered to Norwegian forces. Rarely seen in the UK as the vast majority remain in Norway. An excellent looking carbine with great wood work.
