Product Information

This is a rare German Reichswehr military issued PO8 Luger of the Weimar Republic. In the aftermath of the Great War, Germany was permitted under the Treaty of Versailles to have a small armed force of 100,000 men. In January 1921 the Reichswehr or Realm Defence was established. To arm this newly formed defence force, German arms company DWM & Erfurt were contracted to rework quantities of WWI Lugers. This fabulous condition example was completed in 1921 and is all matching numbers. The serial number does not have a letter suffix which indicates that it is from the first batch of 10,000 pistols produced that year. It also has a rare early Waffenamt army acceptance stamp "WaA4" on the toggle. This was applied in the early 1920s when it was issued into service. This pistol would have eventually been used by a member of the Nazi party when Adolf Hitler came to power some ten years later. A rare find! This Luger served in both world wars and was also in service during the rise of the Nazi party!
