Product Information
A Second World War German MG34 machine gun. Manufactured in 1944 by Waffenwerke Brunn under secret code "dot". This one bears some interesting markings. During its service life it sustained some sort of damage and required to be reworked. Once a repair was completed German armorers would then strike through any old numbers and then renumber the new parts to match existing ones. This can be clearly seen on the top cover . It is very good indication of service use. It has many originally matched parts including the bolt which is also dot marked, and has its wartime finish.
The MG34 - Maschinengewehr-34 (Machine gun, model of 1934) was designed in the early 1930s and saw service with the German army until the end of the second world war. It was an outstanding weapon, well finished and manufactured to tight tolerances, this however become its drawback being too expensive and too slow to manufacture, it therefore was not suited for mass wartime production, and although they continued being made until the end of the war, its cheaper and faster to manufacture cousin the MG42 took over.
Deactivated to old specifications with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
