Product Information

A superb Second World War German MG42 machine gun. The initials "GZ" were only used by Steyr and for one year only in 1943. Steyr was assigned secret code "bnz" and Nazi acceptance Waffen stamp Eagle over WaA623. The additional Waffen stamps are those of subcontracted parts manufacturers. The serial number is also correct and falls within the known serial number range used that year. Steyr only produced an estimated 25,000 MG42's in 1943. The MG42 had a fantastic rate of fire at 1200 rounds a minute. Nick named by US troops as Hitler's buzz saw, they are still in use in a modified form today. A real German WWII classic. It comes with a belt containing 50 inert 7.92mm rounds. Deactivated to new EU specifications.
