A Second World War German Sauer 38H pistol, chambered in 7.65mm. During wartime production Sauer only produced around 200,000 of the model 38H. This is example is a third variation with safety lever and is correctly marked on barrel, slide and frame with the Eagle over N proof markings. This proof stamp was only used after April 1940 and dates this pistol to around 1941. They issued to all branches of the Nazi regime, including SS and military police. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked and dry fired.
