An FG42 all metal construction replica. This is believed to be an ex film prop used during the filming of the classic WWII movie, "The Eagle Has Landed". It was purchased many years ago when various props were being sold off. It would appear to be a one off or one of only few that were made for filming. It is constructed from cast zinc-alloy and to dimensions similar to the original. It has no moving parts and is very well made and is fairly heavy. The originals were used by the German Fallschirmjäger (parachute infantry) and some elite SS units. It would be ideally suited for film or movie work, or for re-enactment.
