Product Information

A very rare and unusual Old Specification WWII Nazi MP38/40 "Hybrid" submachine gun dated 1941. First developed in 1938, production of the MP38 ended in 1941. When it was replaced by externally similar, but less expensive MP-40. In 1941 only 12,800 MP38's were produced. This example has a 1941 dated MP38 rear trigger assembly and early slab sided receiver and barrel also dated 41. It is possible that this gun was assembled using existing parts in order to boost production numbers. 1941 was the last year of producing for the MP38. The slab sided MP40's production was also short lived, as it to was superseded as manufacturing was simplified. The waffenamt code WaA280 code appears on all major parts, which would also strongly suggest it was assemble at the same time. With its original finish and sling this is a rare opportunity to own a very collectable classic German submachine gun. Deactivated very sympathetically in 1989 to old specifications with a working action and can be stripped and dry fired.
