An early, matching numbers Browning High Power MKI with E series serial number. The markings LGK ST on the pistol grip and magazine refer to the Austrian police unit that it was issued to. LGK meaning Landes Gendarmerie Kommando (Gendarmerie Command for the Land of) and ST the region "Styria" . The number 2038 is the weapon number. The E series HP's are unusual and are part of an early 1950s production run. It is reputed that the British MOD received batches of the E series HPs shortly after WWII had ended. These pistols are identical to the Nazi examples and very similar to the British Special Forces issue weapons. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked and dry fired.
