A Smith & Wesson model 10-8 , chambered in .38 Special, heavy barrel revolver. A favorite sidearm with countless US police forces. This example is marked "P7" , which we believe this is a British police weapon number that has been milled into the frame and evidence of red paint in the border and on the base of the grips. Another indication of police ownership. The revolver is also BNP (British Nitro Proof) stamped. The heavy barrel gave this variant more accuracy and helped reduce muzzle lift. Deactivated very sympathetically to old specifications it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
