British Martini Henry 1860 Pattern Yataghan Bayonet & Scabbard with Leather Frog. Both have been shortened. Presumable it was damaged and shortened by the armorer or it may have been captured and then cut down. The modification to both parts is very old. The bayonet is dated 3/85 = March 1885, then 1890 and 1900 with War Department and Broad Arrow acceptance stamps. It can still be fitted to a Martini rifle.
