Product Information

An original First Pattern WWII German Luftwaffe Sword & Scabbard. The overall condition of both sword and scabbard is very good. The pommel has oak leaves around the entire edge with 'sun wheeled' Swastikas on both sides. The crossguard arms are nicely dipping downward with very fine feathering throughout the three segments of each guard.The grip is finished with Moroccan blue leather and tightly wrapped with dual aluminum wire. The blade is lovely condition with nickel plated finish and is marked with the seated king trademark. The regent sits upon the firm’s initials, “SMF” and holds an upward pointing sword. Beneath the king is the location city, “Solingen”. The original matching blue leather blade buffer is in place. The scabbard shell is also in lovely original condition and is made from Moroccan blue leather with its belt hoops and mounts intact. This sword and scabbard were brought back after WWII by a serving British officer who was stationed in German during WWII. It has remained in his family untouched.
