This is a very rare and unusual WWII Sten gun magazine that has been converted to fit a Thompson machine gun. The magazine body was originally made for a Sten gun and has then been shortened with the addition of a steel block attached to the spine so that it fit a Thompson machine gun. This maybe a prototype / test example or field conversion? We have pictured the magazine fitted to a WWII M1. A few possible thoery is it was being developed for use by airbourne troops or for tank crews or maybe covert ops? The Thompson is not included and is available separately.
