Product Information

This is a US BDU-33 practice bomb (Bomb, Dummy Unit), used to simulate the M1a-82 500-pound bomb for air-dropped practice bombing. The inert bomb utilises a smoke marker to give a visual reference in the target zone when dropped. These dummy bombs have been carried and deployed by almost every fixed wing aircraft in the US Air Force and Navy since as far back the Cold War, through Vietnam and into present day operations. Most recently they have been seen in use on the A-10 "Warthog" ground attack aircraft and the F-16 Fighting Falcon, both aircraft having seen active service in operations over Iraq and Afghanistan. These stout dummy bombs (weighing in at around 11.5kg/25 lbs and 22.5"/57cm long) are scarcely seen on the market in the UK owing to their continued use by US Armed Forces.
