WWII German M42 Lufwaffe Helmet

The German M42 combat helmet was produced from 1942 until the end of the war. Production was simplified due to increasing demands for more helmets and quicker supply to the various fronts. The pressed vent hole was retained but the rolled rim was abandoned in favour of a sharp-edged flared rim to simplify the manufacturing process. This example retains its original liner and chin strap. Inside just visible is the makers ink stamping and on the inner rim are the makers initials NS = Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke, Schwerteand and size 66. The batch numbers D308 confirm that this M42 was Luftwaffe issued.
