WWII US Army Signal Corps Field Telephone with head sets. During WWII the German and Japanese forces were able to triangulate the signals produced by American radios. Once the position of the source of the signal was found, they were able to summon an artillery barrage on the position. The American forces countered this technique by creating a remote control signal generator. This piece of equipment was placed a distance away from the headquarters. In the event of being detected, the artillery shells would hit a lone piece of equipment as opposed to the headquarters themselves. A great set with its original 1944 dated canvas carry bag.
