Product Information

A very impressive Swiss, Milbank-Amsler Abgeandort Rifle, "Infanterie Gewehr Model 1842" chambered in 18mm - Obsolete calibre. The Swiss Milbank-Amsler was a conversion of the huge percussion rifle M1842 to a breach loader by the simple expediant of fitting the Milbank-Amsler receiver system to the breech end of the barrel.  The action employed in this, as well as the other Milbank-Amsler Swiss rifles, was originally patented in the US by Issac Milbank in 1866 and then adapted by Rudolph Amsler for use in the Milbank conversions. This example bears the orignal makers and the conversion companies names on the lock and action trap door. The barrel looks to be regimentally marked.

This historic rifle can be owned live without any form of license. It has a full working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.

It is being sold as a collectors piece only.
