A First World War Enfield manufactured SMLE No1 MKIII* .303 rifle, with lots of broad arrow acceptance stamps and matched parts. First issued in 1917, at some stage during its service life it has been redeployed and reissued to one of Great Britain's colonial forces. Large numbers of SMLE's were sent to arm troops in the African campaign against Nazi German during WW2. Often remaining in service post WWII. A very well traveled rifle with lots of history. Comes with an original canvas sling, Wilkinson made 1907 Pattern bayonet & scabbard dated 1917. Deactivated in 1991 to old specifications it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
