A First World War, Mauser manufactured German army Gew98 rifle. Dated 1918 with Imperial German army stamps. Fitted with an unusual modified leather sling that looks to have come from a French rifle or carbine. The Gew98 was the Germans standard issue rifle and was used by them throughout both world wars. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
