A Battle of Britain era 40mm (40 x 311R) British Bofors gun round. These rounds were used as anti aircraft and later on in Europe on mobile ground units. The Bofors was used on land and at sea on naval vessels. The armour piercing projectile and brass case are both dated 1940.
